I watched the opening of the Beijing Olympics from here in Britain this afternoon -- The opening ceremony was absolutely stunning!!!

Such great choreography and vibrant colours on show...the organisation committee has done China proud...I'm now awaiting to see what greatness will come out from China over the next 2 weeks!

If chinese politicians could understand that a majority of frenchs appreciate a lot their great civilization and the kindness of chinese people, it would avoid many understandings.

I was glad that President Nicolas Sarkozy finally attended the ceremony. France is the first country to have officially recognized China by the voice of Charles de Gaulle. Fourty years ago, Alain Perefitte wrote a book entitled: "When China will awake".

France and China are now friend countries for eternity. A friend of mine from chinese origin is working as engineer in my company. She is graduated from best Chinese Beijing university and French engineer school !
