To the People of China,

Thank you for hosting the Olympics. Your country accomplished it in stellar fashion, unsurpassed by anyone in the modern era. You raised the bar on opening and closing ceremonies to a height that will proboalby never be equalled.

Despite the earthquakes and problems before the games, your hopitality and showmanship perservered. Congratulations on winning the most gold, and on hosting the best Olympics ever!

I now want to travel to China and vacation there, more than ever.
Hats off to China from a midwestern American.

I want to thank the people of China for the incredible effort put forth in bringing such an exceptional Olympic experience to the rest of the world. Thank you for your gracious job as hosts of this great event.

And as for those that use the Olympics for a stage for political commentary or posturing ...shame on them.

At the Munich Olympics, the world witnessed the worst terrorist massacre in the Olympics history. With terrorism now a constant threat, I'm glad China made protection of athletes and spectators its top priority. Thank you China for providing the security so one and all could have the peace of mind to enjoy themselves without having to look over their shoulders wondering where the next bombing was going to be as in Atlanta in 1996. London can learn from Beijing when their turn comes.

Bravo Beijing! Bravo China! As a Frenchman who has the privilege to live in China, I want to congratulate my Chinese friends and the people of China for the most beautiful and successful Olympics ever. China has honored the Olympics'tradition and the Olympics 2008 have honored China. And when hearing those who took the Olympics as an occasion to find fault with China, I am reminded of the words of Jesus: “Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye”.

CONGRATULATIONS CHINA . you deserve a pat on the back for the spectacular organisation skills you have shown in all departments , and I was so pleased that you won the most gold medals . I would like to see some ordinary people of China be given the chance to visit the UK for the next Olympic games in 2012 , perhaps people who have done good work in their communities in helping other people less fortunate than themselves. This could be done by way of a National Lottery e.g. supported by all Newspapers , with Media support .
A chance for the ordinary person who could never even dream of an amazing thing to happen in their lives . Is it possible ? well of course you have just proved it a thousand times over. warmest regards Robert Muir.North Yorkshire ,UK

Tomorrow I'll be heading to Birdnests to watch the closing ceremony. After watching the flame burning there for more than two weeks, it's really reluctant for me to see the flame fade and the grand gathering over. We'll wait another four year to see it burning again in London. Hope all the foreign guests have enjoyed their journey in Beijing. Beijing welcomes you forever. We shall meet again!
